Ghost Is Dancing update! For the last 5 months 12 terrified technicians from the Ghost touring company have been taught to dance by 12 professional dancers from the cast all in aid of the BBC’s Children in Need Appeal. On Sunday 3rd November they will demonstrate their skills in front of a panel of Judges as part of a grand charity fund raising gala at the Mayflower theatre, Southampton. With a star cabaret, charity auction and lots of surprises this is the one charity event of the year that you wouldn’t want to miss. Tickets for the show can now be purchased via the Ghost Is Dancing website. I promise this is going to be a brilliant event, do come along if you can make it! You can also sponsor our amazing couples; check out the rehearsal footage which will be posted over the coming weeks and pick your favourite...! Anything you can spare will be much appreciated, it's for an amazing cause. If Whoopi Goldberg can spare the time to record a good luck message for us (legend) then I'm sure we can all find it in ourselves to spare a few quid! Please, please help us get #ghostisdancing trending; retweet for your lives! x Links http://ghostisdancing.co.uk/ https://www.justgiving.com/Ghostmusicalisdancing Buy tickets You can also keep up to date with the latest news by following us on facebook and twitter

I'm taking advantage of being close to London for a couple of weeks next month and cramming in as many gigs as I can! Come on down to the Leicester Square theatre on September 22nd where I'll be performing in DIVAS:Unsung, alongside some fabulous West End females. It promises to be a fun, relaxed evening of high quality cabaret. Focusing on the best leading lady showstoppers that may have been forgotten by even the most die-hard fans, it should be a treat for lovers of Musical Theatre and novices alike. Hope to see some of you there! Link to tickets here P.S. Don't forget, the Sunday prior (15th) I'll be appearing at the UK launch of Jonathan Reid Gealt's latest album, Here For You, at the St James theatre. Serious brownie points to those who make both...! Details on booking for Jonathan's gig in my last blog x I've sung at many a gig over the last few years. As well as providing welcome opportunities to try out new material, they're also the ideal ground to check out what my contemporaries have in their rep folders and then shamelessly swipe the material I take a shine to! At one such gig last year, two songs in particular that I'd never heard before immediately made my ears prick up. I resolved to head home and google Quiet and I'm Yours, track down the sheet music and find out the names of the smartarses responsible for writing such gorgeous songs. As it turns out, the smartarse (singular) responsible for both was one Jonathan Reid Gealt. I've been a big fan of his work ever since, so I'm thrilled to have been invited to sing at the launch concert for his latest CD release, Here For You, at the St James Studio on September 15th. I've no doubt it'll be a fantastic evening, featuring a terrific lineup of West End vocalists as well as the man himself! Jonathan is also offering one lucky winner the unmissable opportunity to join the lineup on the night and sing the aforementioned Quiet. For details on how to submit yourself for the competition, click on the link below. If you'd like to know what I'll be singing; I'm afraid you'll just have to get yourself a ticket….! Whilst in Wolverhampton with Ghost, Stewart Clarke (Sam Wheat) and I were roped in to demonstrating our pottery making expertise alongside the lovely Amy Stubbs and Tom Campbell from Signal radio UK. Chaos ensued...! We also took a trip to a local art gallery for a slightly calmer pot throwing session and a chat about the show. Check out the footage here!
At the beginning of this year, I was delighted to play the role of Angharad in Christopher J Orton and Bob Gould's musical, My Land's Shore. Set in Wales at the time of the Merthyr uprising, it is a tale of conflict, social injustice, moral dilemmas, guilt, love and heartbreak. I'm thrilled that the show has now reached the semi finals of the Search for a Twitter Composer competition. Excerpts from the production will be performed at the Soho theatre on June 23rd and I'll be dashing back from Leeds to participate. Hope to see as many of you there as possible, supporting new musical theatre writing! Link to tickets here. I recently took time out from Ghost to get in the studio alongside Lauren Varnham, Jennifer Tierney and Sabrina Aloueche, with the wonderful Scott Morgan accompanying, to record a track for Lauren's upcoming charity album. With the money raised going towards the Petersons Fund for Children and with many other West End performers featured on the album, I hope as many of you as possible will stick your hand in your pocket and buy Lauren's album when it's released! You can also hear Lauren performing some of the tracks from the album at her upcoming concert on June 2nd, "A cuppa music". Link to tickets here. |
