 I've sung at many a gig over the last few years. As well as providing welcome opportunities to try out new material, they're also the ideal ground to check out what my contemporaries have in their rep folders and then shamelessly swipe the material I take a shine to!
At one such gig last year, two songs in particular that I'd never heard before immediately made my ears prick up. I resolved to head home and google Quiet and I'm Yours, track down the sheet music and find out the names of the smartarses responsible for writing such gorgeous songs. As it turns out, the smartarse (singular) responsible for both was one Jonathan Reid Gealt. I've been a big fan of his work ever since, so I'm thrilled to have been invited to sing at the launch concert for his latest CD release, Here For You, at the St James Studio on September 15th. I've no doubt it'll be a fantastic evening, featuring a terrific lineup of West End vocalists as well as the man himself!
